Networking
We all network in some form or another. Face to face networking has been around for a long time. The Chamber is a good place to network such as the Business After Hours. If your main work is sales then Sales Pros would work. Strategic Networking is an interesting gathering to attend. Let’s Coffee Chat has a program that introduces your business to other businesses. This gives you the opportunity to follow up and meet face to face. There are many leads groups available where referrals for new business are passed to each other. BNI, Brain, Prospectors, Colorado Business Leads, Power Lunch Leads Group as well as many others are available. Visit many to see which would be a good fit for you. When you meet other business people and take the time to get to know them and for them to get to know you then you are on your way to success. By having people that you trust you can refer people that you know to them. They also get the opportunity to do the same. A while back I attended a seminar by Cyber Dog. The theme of the seminar was using the internet to keep in touch with others. I was introduced to Linkedin. Linkedin is a way to build your network of business connections. I also found Merchant Circle for business connections. Plaxo is another way to keep in touch. For keeping in touch with friends and family Face Book is a joy. Try each to see what works for you. Credit Card Debt by Pamela Weir You can make this your year to get out of debt. Whether you use personal or business credit cards to finance your business, it is important to pay off your debt, lower your interest rates, and improve your credit standing. Let’s take a look at these ideas. If you are like most people you are only paying the minimum payments on your credit cards. Minimum payments however extend you into additional costs due to the interest rate. Start a strategy of paying more than the minimum each and every month. You can pay an extra five or ten dollars a month and you will pay off your debt sooner. If you can double the minimum amount you will pay more to the principal than to the interest. You can lower your interest rate by simply calling and requesting you interest rate to be lowered. Credit card companies can and will lower your interest rates. All you have to do is call and ask them to. This is a good time to do this because all credit card companies are scrambling to keep your business. When you lower your interest rate you will save hundreds to thousands of dollars. Do not use more than 35% of the limit on any credit card. Do not close out any old accounts.
